Visualising ETC’s Climate Report on Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)

Explore how Design for Change helped the Energy Transitions Commission communicate bolder Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) through compelling visuals in their 2024 climate ambition report – transforming complex data into persuasive, policy-ready narratives that inspired urgency and action among global decision-makers.

Turning Policy into Persuasion

The Credible Contributions report required more than a demonstration of strong science – it demanded a visual narrative that policy stakeholders could grasp and act upon. Design for Change transformed complex climate and economic data into engaging infographics and clear layouts, ensuring that each insight resonated across audiences.

With 30+ pages of core content and 25 infographics, we developed a cohesive design aligned with ETC’s 2025 brand. Our work enabled clarity across both digital and print formats, supporting ETC’s advocacy for bolder national climate commitments that meet the urgency of the Paris Agreement.

Embedding Seamless Collaboration

Working as an embedded design partner, we joined daily communications with SYSTEMIQ, scientists, and editorial teams. Jira and Confluence allowed us to manage scope and tickets efficiently, while Ziflow streamlined version control, feedback, and approvals.

Tight deadlines around peer reviews meant early exhibit design and a proactive production mindset. Our team ensured scientific integrity while enhancing stakeholder comprehension, maintaining a rapid pace without compromising editorial polish or brand fidelity.

Objective Delivered

The report launched on time with compelling visual storytelling that conveyed scientific accuracy and editorial excellence. Our design facilitated informed discussion among policymakers and ETC members, reinforcing the case for ambitious national targets ahead of COP30.

From complex modelling within exhibits to the photography-led cover, every element was crafted to meet stakeholder needs, uphold ETC’s identity, and drive global climate action. Our creative leadership helped position the report as a pivotal communication tool in the fight for climate change action.
